Practical Shotgun

Practical Shotgun is a shooting discipline that involves using a shotgun to tackle a course of fire that is designed to simulate real-world scenarios. It involves shooting targets of different shapes, sizes, and distances, as well as engaging with multiple targets at the same time.

Participants in Practical Shotgun use a shotgun with a capacity of between four and nine shells. The discipline is divided into three divisions, depending on the type of shotgun being used: Open Division, Standard Division, and Modified Division. In Open Division, competitors can use a shotgun with any modification, whereas in Standard Division, the gun must be in as close to factory condition as possible. Modified Division falls in between the other two divisions, with a few modifications allowed.

The course of fire in Practical Shotgun is designed to test the shooter’s accuracy, speed, and decision-making skills. The targets used are often steel plates and pop-up targets that are required to be engaged from various positions, with the shooter transitioning between multiple targets in quick succession. Shooters must prioritize the targets based on their position and the scenario being presented.

Overall, Practical Shotgun is an exciting and challenging shooting discipline that requires a high level of skill and precision. It is growing in popularity around the world, with many organized competitions and events held regularly throughout the year.
